The new classification in a minute
Six categories, and a national ranking for every branch
The draft regulation ranks private schools and kindergartens across Jordan in descending order of total score, and classification is repeated every 3 years.
- Every licensed branch is classified on its own, with its own category and certificate
- Schools display their category certificate prominently and on their documents
- The Ministry publishes the list of institutions and their categories
- The standards and their weights will be set by ministerial instructions, not yet issued as of October 2026

- Four categoriesin the middle, 20% each
- Bottom 10%in the sixth category
The category is a relative ranking: it follows the branch’s position among private schools, not its score alone.
What is a school assessed on?

FAQ
What schools ask before they start
Do you guarantee our school a particular category?
No. The category is a relative ranking among schools across Jordan, and the decision is the Ministry’s alone. Our job is to bring the school to its assessment ready, with organized evidence for every domain.
Is classification mandatory for our school?
Under the draft regulation, classification covers every licensed private school and kindergarten; a school does not opt in. Each licensed branch is classified on its own.
How long does preparation take?
The diagnostic takes 2 to 3 weeks, the readiness programme about 5 months, and accreditation preparation from 6 months to 3 years, depending on the body.
Have the classification standards and weights been issued?
Not as of October 2026. The draft sets the six domains, and the standards, indicators and weights will be issued in instructions from the Minister. Until then, we work from the closest official reference in force: Instructions No. 4 of 2022 on Quality Assurance and Classification Standards and Indicators for Educational Institutions.
Is each branch classified separately?
Yes. Each licensed branch is treated as a separate institution, so it is assessed on its own and receives its own category and certificate. That is why we build a separate evidence file for each branch.
How do you protect our school’s and teachers’ data?
We work in line with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023. We do not sell or rent data, and we share it with no one outside the working team unless the school agrees or the law requires it.
Start with a readiness diagnostic
Within 10 days of the visit, you will know where your branch stands in every domain, and what would move it up.
